My name is Katrina and I love to travel. A lot.

A few years ago I put my nomadic lifestyle on hold and decided to put down roots, including a full time job. At first, it was depressing. What do you mean I can’t travel the world for months at a time? You can’t see or do anything with only 1 or 2 weeks off a year…right?

I created The Two Week Traveler to show you that you can have meaningful, wonderful experiences around the world even if you only have a few weeks of time off a year. You may not be able to see all of Southeast Asia on one vacation, but you can do a lot more than you’d think.

  1. Hi Katrina! I am so happy I finally found another blog, who write about the “short” travels. My husband and I are also travelers, but like you, we both settled down and having only 20 days off from work per year. Luckily we still manage to travel a lot and see the world. I guess it is all about the organisation and strangly enough, we have never traveled more than we do now 😉 So YES, you definitely can travel and see a lot in only few weeks and a steady job does not neccessary mean, you have to stay at home and feel sorry for your self! Happy travels!

    1. Hi Nina, thanks for your comment! I like to hear from people, especially people doing the same thing as me! I don’t really feel like having a ‘real job’ is a hindrance on travel either, although sometimes you have to wait a little longer than you’d like to travel. So many blogs are about long term travel and I thought it would be nice to start a blog for those of us who either had to retire our backpacks or who have never been into that but still love to see the world!

  2. Hi Katrina,

This is Saul at GPSmyCity. We are interested in sponsoring a giveaway on your blog for mutual benefits. If you wish to know more about this opportunity, please reply to my email at your earliest convenience. Thank you.

    Best regards,
    Saul Tarasov,

Hi Katrina, Few days back I saw your blog for the first time. Within this short time I’ve read most of the articles. The writing felt like I was also travelling with you!!

You should write sometsomething on budget travelling, because it’s pretty hard to manage money if you are from a developing country like Bangladesh..

At the end, I invite you to visit Bangladesh which has the world’s longest sea beach, largest mangrove forest and many more.. Bye.
